About the Walkathon
We are SO EXCITED to host our 4th Annual Amy Imai Elementary “We Are All Superheroes” Walkathon!! The Walkathon is a fun-filled community-building social event & PTA fundraiser.
What is our goal?
Our goal for 2025 is a little bit different. While the walkathon has historically been a way to celebrate our amazing school and community spirit AND to raise money to support PTA programs, this year the walkathon will be primarily a community event (and not a fundraiser).
*NEW FOR 2025* → Where does the money go?
Since the PTA has a strong financial position, we are not asking for traditional pledges this year. Instead we are aligning with Imai’s recent accolade as a “Healthy School” ( = healthy minds, bodies and community engagement) -- we will ask for an optional small donation at the time you register. Any money collected above our costs will be put into a shared “book dollar” pool. For every 5 laps your student walks, they will earn $1 in “book dollars” for their grade/class. Please share with your child that the more they walk, the more dollars can be earned for classroom books. (And of course, they will still earn the lap prizes they love!). Teachers can choose books for their classrooms as part of the April book fair using the “book dollars” earned at the walkathon.
It will be a super fun day with music, food, lap incentives and raffle prizes for the kids!
How can my family help support "book dollars"?
When you register via PayBee (early-bird ends Feb 24), there will be a field for an optional donation (suggested $25 - $50 / family). If you have a family member who loves our PTA :), they can write a check payable to ‘Imai PTA’ to support our book dollars initiative or use a PayBee link.
Can parents volunteer to help with the Walkathon?
YES, YES and YES!! The walkathon is an “all hands on deck” event. We need lots of help to ensure it runs smoothly. We are asking each family unit to strongly consider signing up for one volunteer shift. Be part of the fun! Sign ups via Konstella opens on Feb 17.

All walkers (student/sibling participants) need to register via Paybee. The registration cost for each walker is $13, if done online by February 24 (guaranteed t-shirt and size). Online registrations done between Feb 25 - Mar 10 will still get a t-shirt but size is not guaranteed. Same day onsite registration (no t-shirt) is $20.
The TOP 2 CLASSROOMS with highest % of students registered by 3/10 will be getting popsicle parties.
Other Important Safety Guidelines

A parent or legal guardian must be present and on campus during the walkathon; this is NOT a drop-off event. Children cannot attend on their own, nor can an older sibling watch your child.

Walkers must walk unless mobility issues apply. i.e. no scooters, bikes etc. to keep the course in good condition. We also ask that kids walk vs run to keep things safe for all.

We will have self-serve first aid supplies in case special care is needed.

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, extra socks and layers of clothing for our wonderful, unpredictable spring weather.

Make sure you encourage your children to take breaks during the day to prevent dehydration and fatigue. While we do have incentives for laps walked, it is not a competition, nor a race. Please have your child only do what’s best for them.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER AND WATER BOTTLE. There is no drinking at the on-campus fountains but the fountains’ water bottle refill areas are operational.

No Pets. Humans only for this event please! :)

Traffic on the field is ONE WAY. Only enter and exit the field at the designated areas.

No eating or drinking is allowed on the course.
